ATHENA KNITWEAR

Athena Knitwear is a family knitwear business based in Ballymakeera, an Irish speaking village in the Muscraí Gaeltacht in West Cork.

The business was established in 1990, under the stewardship of Sean & Nora Cronin. Since its establishment, Athena has expanded its business through knitting agents throughout the country and in particular County Cork. 

Athena Knitwear has for the past number of years introduced some high quality traditional and designer knitwear. The range consists of ladies crewneck sweaters, lumber jackets, cardigans, and waistcoats - all in pure new wool, also the ladies range would include a mohair selection of sweaters and cardigans. 
The men's range includes crew neck sweaters and cardigans and a very popular zipped polo jacket. The traditional patterns include moss stitches, blackberry, honeycomb with cable, trellis and diamonds. 
All ranges complete in Aran white and colours, light natural, beige, black sheep, dark grey, bottle green and a wide variety of heather shades from the renowned Donegal Yarns - Irish Heather range.
